Ron Ho is Director of Silicon Engineering at Meta, which he joined from the post of Senior Director of Engineering at Intel Corporation. He started his career in 1993, designing and building microprocessors at Intel. He next joined Sun Microsystems as a Distinguished Engineer, and upon Sun’s acquisition by Oracle, became the latter’s first Hardware Architect. At both firms he worked on capacitive and optically coupled communication systems, 3D-stacked memories, and Big Data analytics. His current research interests also extend to augmented and virtual reality and analog circuits. Holder of more than 60 issued U.S. patents and author of over 100 published papers on circuits and systems, he has served as committee member and conference chair for many technical symposia, and has guest edited issues of the IEEE Journal of Solid State Circuits and the IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Quantum Electronics.
